These illustrations bring to life Gemal Seede’s charming children’s book, “Chug and Thug: The Alug Bugs,” a tale of two bug brothers learning a valuable lesson. The project was a captivating exploration of a miniature world, where I designed characters and environments inspired by the intricate world of insects.
My focus was on visualizing the story’s charm and emotional core. The final artwork successfully brought this vision to life, resulting in a collaborative project that truly pleased the author and stands as a personal highlight in my portfolio.
About the book
Chug and Thug: The Alug Bugs is the first book in a series that follows the adventures of two adorable bugs, Chug and Thug, as they learn valuable moral, ethical, and maturation lessons. In this book, after a dangerous experience, older brother Chug learns the value of patience, moderation, obeying his mother’s advice, and, most importantly, remembering God in all matters.
