Global Game Jam 2025
CLIENT

About the Project
The Global Game Jam is a video game creation public event, celebrated yearly around the world, where people gather in teams to develop video games in a 24-hour timeframe. Globant, as a tech company, not only participates but also offers its offices for the event to take place. The particular request here was to convert the already designed registration page made on Adobe XD to Figma, with all the requirements this conversion involves.

Challenges
- The original Adobe XD file was lost, so this represented a great hurdle time-wise.
- Since the requirement was to convert the existing design to a Figma version, it was mandatory to complete a new file from scratch, with all that was needed for the developers´ hand-off.
- They had a tight deadline, so it was needed to move fast.

Solution
- A solid UI-Kit for the page, involving typography, colors, buttons, icons, and all related assets.
- Create the proper variables, components, and interactions, so all works well right from the start.
- Faithfully reproduce the already approved design, so the original and new version pages seem crafted the same way.
The Variables
As a personal preference, I divide the variables into groups as follows:
- Primitives: This is where the breakpoint measurements are, together with the color palette, both primary and secondary colors.
- Typography: The main font, the weights, and all sizes in numbers.
- Text Content: The text from the whole site, from navigation to headers, buttons, cards, and all the related text content.

The Assets
All the needed images were developed as components, accompanied by states if needed (like for the buttons) or the corresponding interactions (as the accordion FAQ). Also, here were included the different visual conversion sizes of the elements, for smaller screen devices.

Navigation Bar.

Footer Backgrounds.

Logo and Buttons.
Icons, Cards and Textures.

Typography Scale for Display, Headline, Title, Body and Label.

Input Field Style and Form.

“Write to Us” Backgrounds.

Footer.

Outcomes
- The resulting page was faithful to the original, preserving the same visuals and measurements from the top navigation to the footer.
- At the same time, even with the same look and feel, the page was improved in the making process, with all the assets organized, working smoothly and ready for the developer’s handoff.
