The Ghoul and the Phoenix
CLIENT

This charming story follows Hamad, a young Emirati boy, as he navigates a universal childhood challenge: the fear of a difficult school exam. With gentle wisdom, his mother introduces a unique and innovative method to help him reframe his anxiety, transforming his dread of failure into a confident, positive outlook.
Creating the illustrations for this book was an incredibly fulfilling experience. It allowed me to visually articulate the profound, often overwhelming, emotions a child faces when confronted with a daunting task, a universally relatable experience, even for adults. Visually representing these tender emotions was a wonderfully rewarding project.
About the book
“The Ghoul and The Phoenix” tells the story of Hamad, who is tormented by a recurring nightmare. Each night, he is haunted by the “Ghoul of Failure,” a monster that pursues him and threatens to prevent his success. To help him conquer this fear, his mother introduces him to the “Phoenix of Positivity.” This benevolent guide provides Hamad with the powerful tools he needs to triumph over his anxieties and ultimately achieve victory.
